The Oval Hard Steel brush is phenomenal for removing surface wax when scraping isn't getting the job done. We don't use this brush in the shop, but when we're at races it's always on the table because we see a lot of incomplete scraping by athletes. KG Lundqvist developed this brush for use in Alpine tuning, but has found that XC skiers make good use of it "instead of scraping". We do not detune this brush - it does not damage bases.
