Fluoro powders are usually ironed onto the base at (very) high heat, providing an extremely durable hydrophic surface coating. It is rare that fluoro powders are not involved in high level race wax jobs, although sometimes it is advantageous to go straight to liquid.

In addition to ironing, fluoro powders can be roto-corked to provide a durable application. But this process is relatively messy and slow. We prefer ironing.

Fluoro fumes and the particulate "sparkles" that are produced in ironing are bad for your health. Be sure to use good protection.
