Liquid fluoros can be confusing because there are lots of different ways to put perfluoro compounds into a liquid form. Some are carried in a liquid solvent base, while others are combined with a liquid perfluoro base. Different companies have different approaches to making liquid fluoros, and favor different application techniques. Because of this it is also common for there to be large variations in the durability of a liquid application. It's important to have some understanding of the products that you use so that you know what to expect from your liquids.

It is generally agreed that liquid fluoros provide a more complete coverage of the base surface than any other coating method. Conventional wisdom holds that liquid fluoros provide their best performances in older or rounded crystals. However, some of the newer liquids - particularly the Vauhti hfC liquids - have been excellent in new snow.
